Ontario Ballet Theatre’s The Nutcracker has been recreated in the grand style
of the original Kirov version. This 90-minute masterpiece is ballet’s
most popular and enchanting classic. The plot satisfies one of our
basic emotional needs: it appeals not only to children, but to the
child-like belief we all share that good will triumph over evil and
that things truly will turn out for the best. Tchaikovsky’s score is a
marvel, a miracle of classical form, imagination, melody, and
orchestral colour, with a deep spiritual undercurrent. With glorious
costumes, three full-scene backdrops and a company of up to 24
professional dancers, Ontario Ballet Theatre’s The Nutcracker has
already swept audiences off their feet all over Ontario.

This enchanting show is part of the Meaford Hall & Culture
Foundation’s Annual Christmas Celebration. The Gala evening begins with
a reception at 7pm, followed by the Ballet at 8pm. A silent auction of
lovely and festive seasonal items continues throughout the evening.
