New Global Deal On Climate Change

Next week, negotiators from almost every country in the world will be in Bonn, Germany to begin work on a new global deal on climate change. We’re trying to make sure that those negotiators consider the needs of people already being affected by climate change, including the tens of millions Africans who are projected to suffer from increasing droughts resulting in smaller crop yields.
To that end, we’ve collected over 18,000 signatures on our petition to Yvo de Boer, who is hosting these talks for the UN. We’ll deliver that petition next week, and then closely track any progress made at the negotiations. This delivery is just a step along the road to a new climate agreement which will be ratified in Copenhagen later this year. Between now and then, we have lots of work to do, and we’ll also have more actions targeting other leaders who can help advocate for developing countries to receive the adaptation funding they’ll need.
