The Mortgage Protector is the result of being in the Life Insurance business since 1996. My very first policy was to a young family who had taken out a mortgage insurance product through the bank – and they asked me what the difference was. I told them honestly that I didn’t know – but I promised them that I would find out what the difference, if any was. So I went away and I looked into all of the mortgage life insurance that is sold by the banks, what they sold, the premiums they charged, and how they settled their claims.
What I found out was very alarming and we have detailed some of the more significant differences in our section: Banks vs. Mortgage Protector. What resulted was, the creation of my Top Ten List titled:

We want to make it perfectly clear that we are not bashing the banks – I respect the importance that they have in today’s marketplace. If you were to ask any professional banker if they are insurance specialists all would agree that they are not – in fact, the Bank Act restricts them from advising about Life Insurance.
What we are, is a team of dedicated insurance professionals, who have spent our careers ( 11 plus years) learning about the insurance marketplace that exists within Canada, learning about their products, and being able to translate this knowledge into an understanding of what is the best product or products for our clients, to protect their biggest and most valuable asset: Their family!
The banks would like to think that it is your home – but we believe that if you properly plan and protect your family – the mortgage is just a small piece of the “puzzle”.
