My diatribe, for what it's worth..
In Canada we supposedly had the largest oil reserves in the world. I guess
we 'sold' , sorry let me rephrase that, gave away our tar sands to the
American companies for the lowest royalties ever - don't you love those
commercials from New York State .Big Indian Tobacco & Gas "our gas comes
from our friendly neighbours in Canada, not some terrorist nation!".
remember, the same gas in Canada sells for almost 50% HIGHER!
We have the HIGHEST gas prices of ANY oil-producing nation! Stop comparing
prices to Europe - they don't have any oil. Compare gas prices in the US
right now at about $2.68 a gallon and in Venezuela it's $0.12 CENTS a
gallon..far cry from $1.01 litre or over $4.00 gallon in Toronto! AMAZING!!!
So the Americans, if they get past the tree hugger issues and start
extracting their reserves, will set a price of $16 a barrel for their
people..and with house prices in the toilet in the US, maybe
Arizona/California/Florida/Hawaii are all looking pretty sweet after all!
P.S - Don't forget to thank your Provincial and Federal politicians for
making you work until October before you overcome the new taxes!
