Dragons’ Den Meaford at Meaford Hall

The Meaford & District Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce the second annual Dragons’ Den Meaford at Meaford Hall on Wednesday, October 20th, 2010. The first was a smash success and the sequel promises to be even better!
Once again, aspiring local entrepreneurs will be invited to submit their business ideas for a chance to win seed money from members of a panel of five local business savvy Dragons. Details on criteria, timelines, sponsorships and more are forthcoming.
Last year’s debut resulted in two new Meaford business start-ups and over $31,000 cash and in-kind contributions to Meaford’s business community. Dragons’ Den Meaford generated a positive business news story for Meaford and created a far reaching buzz with some high profile coverage on CBC Radio and several regional media outlets.
“As the only community in Canada presenting Dragons’ Den Meaford, the event helped create new micro-businesses and proved local entrepreneurship is alive and well in our creative Municipality”, says Municipality of Meaford Chief Administrative Officer Frank Miele.
Dragons’ Den Meaford is modeled after the popular CBC TV show and is aimed at promoting the recent Meaford Economic Development Strategy.
If you are interested in becoming a Dragon or for information, contact Jamie Pettit at the Chamber at 519-538-1640 or business@mdcc.ca.
