Thanks for the Memories Roberta, I Won’t Forget What You Shared with Me…

ROBERTA MARY CRAPPER (nee DICK) Roberta passed away on January 14, 2010. She was born in Welland, Ontario and raised her family in Meaford. Bert was a remarkable person. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a shrewd business woman, opening her Wicker Wheel Chair antique shop just as Canadians began collecting pieces of their history in conjunction with our country’s Centennial celebration. With the same kind of foresight, she jumped ahead of the curve as the health food movement began to take root and opened her own store. The Pure Food Building became a fixture on Meaford’s Main Street as people dropped in to consult with Bert on various remedies and to purchase the latest new cure. Bert will be missed by her grandchildren Mark and Claire and their mother Janice (Pemberton, BC); Jacqueline, Michael, Alexandra and their mother Elizabeth (Chelsea, QC); as well as by Mary Margaret’s partner Tony (Toronto) and Christopher’s partner Lubica (Vancouver). Always remembered and never to be forgotten by Mary Margaret, Michael, David, Chris and Gord.
Roberta was a friend of mine, and a member of our family – which I call Meaford…
When you and Mayor Crapper came into Bogusia’s retaurant in beautiful Meaford, it was a good day, to say the least.
I will never forget the last chat we had Roberta, It is my honour to have spent a few moments chatting with you.
Respect and Love to the Family,
John Malloy
