On March 26th 2011, Maggie Holmes, and trekking partner, Mary Tatham, will trek to Base Camp, on Mount Everest, at an altitude of 17,590 feet.

The purpose of making this trek is to raise $29,035 ( the height of the summit itself ) which will be used to;

  • raise awareness about the youth mental health and suicide crisis in Grey/Bruce;
  • be targeted toward specific programs which provide assistance to youth with mental health issues in Grey/Bruce, and to provide educational programs geared towards suicide prevention.

This Trek is endorsed by the Canadian Mental Health Association (Grey/Bruce).

Please follow the link below created by another parent who has lost their child to suicide, then check out more links on our resource page.  Help our youth and please, help reduce the stigma of mental illness! See what’s possible!!
