Green tea originates from China and is made solely with the leaves of Camellia Sinensis that have undergone minimal oxidation during processing.
Green tea has been around for many years, but only until recently it has found its mark in the Western civilization. The benefits of green tea are huge and many scientific and medical studies have shown it has anti cancer nutrients. Among them we find the Epigallocatechin-Gallate (EGCG), an antioxidant contained in green tea. It has been proven to be 100 times more effective than vitamin C and 25 times more potent than vitamin E which protect cells and DNA against damage from cancer, heart diseases, and other serious diseases.
The Epigallocatechin-Gallate has twice the benefits of Resveratrol found in red wine.

Antioxidant Power of Green Tea
Green tea’s antioxidant power can fight the effects of free radicals in the body.
There are substances in nature that can eliminate free radicals, and many of them, like tannins, catechins, and flavonoids, exist in green tea. Catechin is an especially potent free-radical fighter.
To a lesser extent, vitamins A, C, and E are also antioxidants. Green tea contains high levels of all of these vitamins, and it is the most potent antioxidant drink available today. Green tea polyphenols have powerful anti-cancer features, heart and brain protective and antibacterial properties as well. The most potent of these, EGCG, is present in very high levels in green tea, and it is vital for the prevention of cancer.
Effects of green tea on blood cancers
New research results from Tohoku University in Japan have established the link between green tea consumption and the reduction in blood cancers. A ten- year study involving 40,000 participants monitored their health and lifestyle habits.
This conclusion has been supported by, the Mayo Clinic of Minnesota, after conducting their own studies on leukemia patients. Large doses of GTE’s (green tea extracts) were administered producing immediate results. GTE’s are now considered a viable addition to normal other cancer treatments.
